Running Log – Summary
- Days to Marathon: 95
- Training Week: 13 (Apr 18 – Apr 24)
- Day: Wed, Apr 21st
- Distance: 1.3 miles
- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Pace: really terrible!
I am still feeling like sh*t, and recovering from the sickness. I was going to completely skip any kind of excercise this week also, but after looking at my Running Log Excel Calendar in my room, wherein I track the miles I run counting down to Marathon day, I felt very guilty.
Instead of going to the Wednesday Track, where I thought I would be really down and wallowing in self-pity, I decided to go out for a little run near my house by myself. I told myself that if I feel really sh*tty, then I will start walking. This way, I can get some excercise, and also break the gap in my training calendar and feel “not so guilty”
Running Log – Out into Pacific Height to the Top and Back
I headed out from my house, along Divisadero Street up to the top of Pacific Heights. By the time I reached the top of the steep hill, I was gasping for breath and coughing. Even though it was only 4 blocks up, the rise was quite steep. Moreover, the gasping and coughing told me that I am still very sick.
So I turned left at the top onto Pacific Avenue and started walking briskly. Then I reached Lyon Street and heade down toward the cute little pathway there. I reached Broadway and then turned right, heading back toward Divisadero Street. Once I reached Divisadero Street, I walk down to my house.Back at the Home Base
All told, coming in at 1.3 miles, this was my shortest “run” yet. I am trying not to beat myself over this because I am still very sick. I hope I recover soon, otherwise my entire Marathon Run will be at stake!
